You learn English by speaking it
Juliet teaches with a communicative, conversation-first approach. Instead of memorizing rules from a book, you practice the English you actually use: ordering at a restaurant, talking to your child's teacher, leading a meeting, chatting with neighbors.
Lessons are friendly, relaxed and interactive, and over the years they've gone well beyond the classroom: field trips to the California Science Center, end-of-session parties, potlucks, and dinners out with conversation practice.

Do you teach online?
Yes. A lot of Juliet's students learn online over Google Meet, so you can take lessons from anywhere.
Where do in-person lessons happen?
Juliet comes to your home or office anywhere within about 30 minutes of Santa Monica, from Santa Monica and Brentwood down to Venice, Marina del Rey and Playa del Rey. You can also have lessons at Juliet's home. You decide together when you get in touch.
How much do lessons cost?
Private English lessons are $50 per hour online or at Juliet's home, or $60 per hour at your home or office. Test prep is $50 per hour for the Duolingo English Test, $60 for the TOEFL and $70 for the IELTS, and Business English coaching is $70 per hour. Your first step is a free 15-minute call.
Do you teach children and teenagers?
Yes. Juliet teaches adults, professionals, teens and children, including kids who need extra help with English at school.
I am a beginner. Can I still take lessons?
Absolutely. Juliet has taught students who arrived in Los Angeles speaking no English at all, as well as advanced professionals polishing their writing and presentations. Every lesson plan is made for your level.
